Croyus was born in Ohio and after college, he moved to Colorado where he met his wife. Eventually, he moved to Minnesota but currently resides in Iowa with his three daughters, a horse, three llamas and a mastador named Mike.

His style is close to the Minimalist Fiction writers of the 1940's, but with a modern twist. Each chapter of his book is an enclosed story which progresses the greater story of the micro-novel. Each chapter is between 5-10 pages long so as to make it easy to consume in short bursts.

"I loved books of Heinlein and Asmiov growing up. Their style was less about detailed description than it was about the story," croyus said. "The idea is what is important, not the color of knickers I'm wearing."
