Sandra Schumer M.A.

Sandra Schumer is originally from Ohio where she attended Miami University, receiving her B.S.degree in Speech Pathology. She then moved to New York where she attended Hunter College Graduate School and later The College of Saint Rose completing her degrees in Deaf Education and Administration. Ms. Schumer,mother of three, worked as a speech therapist for the deaf for 25 years and values the importance of words. In addition to being a speech therapist, teacher of the deaf, and special education administrator, she owned and operated an enrichment center on Long Island. It was here "Miss Sandy", as she was called, began to facilitate parent groups, teach and supervise Mommy and Me classes, lecture at day care facilities and began working with parents individually to help them become better prepared as parents.

Ms. Schumer is quoted by saying, "Children are gifts and need the unconditional love and support from parents prepared to face the challenges of parenthood." "Parenthood is a club you've joined without knowing the dues or by-laws."
