Amanda Williamson

Dr Amanda Williamson is a Honorary Professor at The Centre for Dance Research at Coventry University. She is founding editor of the peer review journal, Dance, Movement and Spiritualities at Intellect Press. Amanda founded the association for Somatic Movement Dance Therapies, United Kingdom. She currently supervises PhD students in the UK and in the USA, and trains students to work professionally in the field of Somatic Movement Dance Therapy. Amanda also founded a Masters in Somatic Movement Dance Education, which ran across continents, in New York and in the UK. Amanda's research transverses disciplinary areas such as applied anatomy/physiology, phenomenology, women's spirituality and socio-political cultural theory. She has published an extensive list of peer review publications, and is considered one of the pioneers in the field. She works closely with students and colleagues and enjoys multi-voice research.
