Writing was never a strong point for me. While I was still on probation with the police department my sergeant told me if my reports didn’t improve I might not make it through my probation period. Immediately after the homicide that prompted the writing of “Is he Dead?” I was at a bachelor’s party and a famous author who was also in attendance overheard me telling the story. He interrupted us and asked if I was going to write a book.

“I can’t write a book. I have problems getting police reports approved.” I replied. He suggested if I didn’t write a book to at least write screen play. That was in 1984, I stumbled on my copy of the murder book in 2002 and it was at that time I put pen to paper. Is He Dead? was published in 2014.

Writing it brought shivers to my spine as I re-lived the investigation that followed a murder perpetrated by two children who after years of being abused by their father and neglected by society took the law into their own hands.
