J. R. Potter

J.R. Potter is the critically-acclaimed author and illustrator of the middle grade series Thomas Creeper and the Gloomsbury Secret (2021, Fitzroy Books) about a thirteen-year-old mortician's apprentice turned budding detective. He loves the intersection of the spooky and nerdy, and traces his literary and illustrative interests back to first reading the work of the late-great John Bellairs and his incredible illustrative book partner, Edward Gorey, as a child. Potter has published short fiction in The Portland Review and Owl Canyon Press. In 2018 his YA graphic novel series The Glimmer Society had its debut in the pages of Image Comics. In 2019 he won the Kraken Prize for Middle Grade Fiction from Regal House Publishing. He currently resides at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia with his loving wife and their five rescue animals.
