Harvey Ferguson

In the mid-1960s the author of The Last Cavalryman served as an infantry soldier in the division that General Truscott had once commanded. Ferguson later used his G.I. Bill to earn a bachelor's in English literature and a master's in public administration, and served thirty-two years with the Seattle Police Department, retiring as chief of detectives. After retiring he taught and consulted on criminal justice issues.
