Maria Schell Burden

Hello, my name is Maria Schell Burden. Stories have been trying to get out of my brain and onto paper since I learned to talk, read and write. I have always read a lot of historical fiction, cutting my teeth on the works of Janice Holt Giles, Allan W. Eckert, Gwen Bristow and others. I love anything related to American history, be it fiction or nonfiction. When I was young, my mother took all five of us kids to the library each week. We would all come home with a stack of books, and my mother read to us every night. On road trips, we took turns reading aloud to each other, passing a novel from person to person, each reading a chapter until it was finished–no wonder I’m an Audible junkie today! Every night, I broke the rules and read under the covers with a flashlight after lights-out. I write full time now, and my first novel, “Rules of Rebellion: Legends of the Mohawk Valley,” based on real events, is now available in Kindle and paperback. I hope you enjoy my stories.
