Jonathan Ashworth fell in love with books while growing up in England. "I was always mad about stories. I went through a long succession of heroes from Robin Hood to the Lone Ranger to Dr. Who. I was fascinated by their costumes and adventures.
"I was a Roald Dahl fan. I also adored the Narnia books; for a while I was into car fiction. Then later on Douglas Adams' hilarious and brilliant Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. It was quite a long journey from there to reading Guy de Maupassant, Dostoevsky, and the like, but it was definitely worthwhile."
Ashworth lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA with a boxed set of Proust's In Search of Lost Time as well as the original The Adventures of Robin Hood hardcover he purchased with his pocket money: "That book smells amazing."
