Alex Cormack

Alex Cormack is a Scottish writer living in Edinburgh. Her first novel, A Place to Hide - Kate's Story, was well received and many readers asked Alex to write about what happened to the main characters. It took her two decades to accept the challenge, turning a stand-alone novel into the first of a four part Gilchrist family ssries.

We are reintroduced to Kate's elder son in A Place for Michael. It is 2001 and Michael has graduated from Exeter University. This young man sees himself as having nothing in common with his family but he is wrong. Michael has inherited his father’s failings – and demons.

In A Place for Jamie, we meet Kate's younger son again in 2012. He was a little boy of seven years old in A Place to Hide and is now an adult with few memories of his time in Devon. Perhaps he is without memories of that time but ghosts of the past still affect his life, with terrible consequences.

We meet Dominic in 2014. He does not feature in A Place to Hide but is nonetheless central to the Gilchrist saga. Will his life be enhanced when he is acquainted with this family? The final story had to be told.
