Katie Bickham

Mouths Open to Name Her, Katie Bickham's new book of poems from LSU Press is "wrenching and beautiful" according to critic Ann Fisher-Werth. "She writes about war, and God, and torture, and slavery, forced sterilizations, medical experimentations, all the ills that female flesh is heir to."

Katie Bickham's first book, The Belle Mar, won the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Prize from Pleiades Press and the Jeffrey E. Smith Editor’s Prize from The Missouri Review. Her work has appeared in Rattle, The New Guard, The Missouri Review, Prairie Schooner, Pleiades, and elsewhere.
