Victor Groza

I am the Grace F. Professor of Parent-Children Studies in Social Work at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I teach courses in social work practice (child welfare practice, family interventions, adoption practice and policy) and research, including supervising doctoral dissertations. I have worked on research and training projects in Romania, Ukraine, India, Ethiopia, Belize and Guatemala.

My research in child welfare focuses on two areas:(1) an examination of the institutional care of children, ways to improve the care of children who must reside in institutions, and the negative impact on child development from early trauma due to institutionalization; and (2) family, children and service system issues in domestic, older-child adoption and international adoption. I have published over 65 articles in peer reviewed journals and am the author of 4 other adoption-related books.

I am a LISW-S (Licensed Independent Social Work Supervisor) in the State of Ohio. I continue to have a small clinical practice in Cleveland known as Adoption Partners (https://www.facebook.com/adoptionpartners).

I am also a developing artist, working mostly in pastels (http://www.redbubble.com/people/victorgroza).
