Jr. Jonathan Locust

Jonathan Locust, Jr. is a consultant, educator and professional speaker in the areas of diversity, inclusive excellence, and minority retention and student success. He currently serves as the Director of Institutional Diversity at Ashland University. Jonathan’s responsibility within Student Affairs, as Director of Institutional Diversity includes all aspects student engagement and success; his duties extend to examining and implementing first year student success strategies that include, but are not limited to promoting student academic preparedness. Likewise, he facilitates student success programming and services among Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management and Athletics. Under his leadership, Ashland University has increased the retention and graduation rates for students of color.

Jonathan received an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Ashland University, Bachelor Degree in Communications from the University of Cincinnati and a Master Degree in Higher Education from Kaplan University. Currently, Jonathan is pursuing his Doctorate (PhD) in Education Theory and Social Foundations from the University of Toledo. He is minoring in Research Methods.
