Nadine Pinede is a writer, translator, and artist of the Haitian diaspora who moves between word and image, memory and material to bring overlooked stories to light. Her books include Art That Grows Wings: A Story of Elizabeth Catlett; When the Mapou Sings, a verse novel and 2025 Américas Award Honor Book; and Uprooted: A Journey in Poems. She edited Earth Is a Living Thing: Black Poets and the Natural World, which received a starred review from Publishers Weekly.

Her sculptural artist's book installation NOU LA: A Knot in Time, weaving family memory and Haitian women's histories, was exhibited at Rhodes House, Oxford, and featured in Forgotten, a special issue of Collect Art. She lives on the edge of a primeval forest, where what is unseen gathers strength.
