Janet Arnold

Janet Arnold is a qualified, experienced piano teacher and author of Sammy Semibreve piano books. Born and brought up in London, she was educated at North London Collegiate School, King’s College London University and The Royal College of Music. After graduating, she taught piano for several years before deciding on a complete career change which led to seventeen years as an IT professional in roles ranging from programmer through to project leader and technical assurance coordinator. She returned to piano teaching in 2002 after moving to Essex with her husband and three children. In 2004 she started developing material for her first book, ‘Sammy Semibreve’s First Piano Book’ published in 2009. She found that she really enjoyed writing and illustrating and that she had gained many transferable skills during her time in IT to complement her experience in piano teaching. She continues to develop further material for the Sammy Semibreve series.
