John Blakeman is a registered professional nurse, educator, and researcher. He has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles in a variety of well-respected journals. He has also presented regionally and nationally. Blakeman has received several awards related to his research and writing, including the Clinical Article of the Year Award form the American Heart Association’s Council on Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing. He also received the Illinois State University Research Initiative Award in 2023 and the Early Career Research Award in 2022. For his dissertation research detailing women’s experiences with fatigue prior to heart attack, Blakeman received the Clarence W. Sorensen Distinguished Dissertation Award from Illinois State University.
