Lance C. Bradley

Lance Bradley was born in Louisville, Ky on November 27th, 1985.

Like most kids born in Kentucky, he fell under the spell of basketball at a young age. He had a basketball placed in his crib as soon as he was brought home from the hospital and never stopped playing. As he grew up he split his time between his two passions, basketball and film. In middle school he enjoyed film as an art of telling stories rich with the human elements like: Once Upon A Time In The West, Silence of the Lambs, and Unforgiven.

Although he was raised a Kentucky basketball fan and despite the fact that his entire family consists of Kentucky basketball fans, Lance chose another path. At the age of twelve when Kentucky hired Tubby Smith instead of Billy Donovan, Lance became a Florida fan, and has faithfully followed them ever since.

Attending Waggener Traditional High School he found another passion in writing through rigorous portfolio work, and a love for reading. Indulging in expression and creativity he found his voice in writing short stories and novellas in the science fiction genre. In 2004 he graduated high school a distinguished young writer and an all 27th district basketball player.

After high school he found himself enrolled at Jefferson Community College for his general education while trying to decide a major. During this time he took a screenwriting course and felt it was the perfect way to mold his love for writing and film. So he self taught himself at the art of screenwriting through multiple how to books. In 2007 Lance Bradley was a runner up in the science fiction category with his first penned screenplay "Dark Sky". This gave him the courage to follow his passion at the college level, he enrolled with Spalding University in 2009, and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in 2011.

During senior screenplay project Lance was tasked to enrich his story with Kentucky history. His fascination with nuclear science fiction and interest in the old fallout shelter now referred to as the Mega Caverns in Kentucky, lead him to write a nuclear war screenplay rich with science fiction. Through reading similar fiction he stumbled upon a story that was latent with the human ability to overcome. A book called "Alas, Babylon" quickly became his favorite book which he has read many times since his first. This book was in his sights as a wonderfully told story about the ability of mankind to overcome even nuclear war.

After an internship with Producer/Director Stu Pollard, he brought the novel "Alas, Babylon" to his attention. It was then the journey began to acquire the film rights to Pat Frank's bestselling novel. Nearly three years later Stu Pollard successfully acquired those rights (Easier said than done. Most certainly a story for Stu to tell!), and Lance was given his first professional screenwriting opportunity, adapting "Alas, Babylon" for the screen.

Currently Lance balances his time as a writer and nursing student once again at Spalding University. He is still enjoying every Florida Gator's basketball season as a die hard fan and still lives in Louisville KY with his loyal beagle, Chainsaw.
