Dorothy V. Malcolm

Author, Dorothy V. Malcolm was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and has lived in Oxfordshire, England, the U.S. South, and in both Salem and Ipswich, Massachusetts. Her work has been in the arenas of history, all the arts, interior design, pop culture, and miscellanea.

A graduate of the University of Maryland-Heidelberg with studies at Oxford University, she reveals she can’t ever remember not writing. Her first published article was in 1979 for the Air Force Times Magazine. Ms. Malcolm has written countless magazine and newspaper articles for 30-plus years, copy-edited eleven books, and has authored/co-authored three books.

Ms. Malcolm finds her English language a happy and challenging conundrum, loves its maze of fits and starts, its exceptions even more than its rules, and its promise of influence, clarity, and art. Currently, she is working on various projects, among them a memoir, historical fiction, and several children’s stories.
