Ohio born and raised, Kerry is a founding member of Toledo, Ohio’s Almeda St. Poets, ToledoPoet.com, and the "Toledo Poetry Museum" page on Facebook. She is often seen at local poetry readings and events such as Artomatic 419, 100-Thousand Poets for Change, Back to Jack, and the Columbus Arts Festival. Kerry is a graduate of the University of Toledo Honors College,and her poetry and short fiction have appeared in various journals, including "Midwestern Gothic," "Naugatuck River Review," "Alimentum," "The American Journal of Nursing," "The Fourth River," "Slippery Elm," "Mock Turtle Zine," "Gasconade Review," and "Third Wednesday;" as well as in anthologies such as, "Tuesday Night at Sam and Andy’s Uptown Café" (Westron Press 2001), "Mourning Sickness" (Omniarts 2008), "Roll" (Telling Our Stories Press 2012), and "Journey to Crone" (Chuffed Buff Books, 2013). Her poetry books are "Things That Come in Boxes" (King Craft Press 2012,) "To Have Hoped" (Finishing Line Press 2015,) "Artifacts" (NightBallet Press 2017,) "To Be Nonchalantly Alive" (Kelsay Books 2020,) "Marilyn: Self-Portrait, Oil on Canvas" (Gutter Snob Books 2022,) and "Unknowable Things" (Roadside Press 2023.)
