Jim Rice

Jim Rice has watched the Green Bay Packers rise from a relic on the frozen tundra to one of the league’s premier franchises once again. Their victory in Super Bowl XLV completed the latest accomplishment for the franchise since its revival in 1992.

Jim, who grew up a Giants fan, noticed that three former Giants were on the 2010 Packers team that had just won the Super Bowl (Ryan Grant, Charlie Peprah, and Jimmy Robinson). This observation lit a spark that brought together two of Rice’s lifelong passions - history and sports. It resulted in his first book Giant Cheeseheds! The Giant-Packer Rivalry 1928-2014.

Three other books about football history followed, and Rice has now released The Packers Century 1919-2019: The game-by-game history of the Green Bay Packers. This compendium includes concise summaries of over 1,400 games that can be easily referenced with one click. The ebook is nearly 1,100 pages and includes over 700 stories and memories from fans, players, and sportswriters about the special relationship between the Packers and their fans.
