William Wootten

William Wootten is the editor of Reading Walter de la Mare (Faber, June 2021), the author of the twenty poem poetry pamphlet Looking at the Horseman (New Walk, May 2021) https://newwalkmagazine.bigcartel.com/, the poetry volume You Have a Visitor (Worple Press http://www.worplepress.com/you-have-a-visitor/) and the critical study The Alvarez Generation: Thom Gunn, Geoffrey Hill, Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath and Peter Porter (Liverpool University Press 2015),. Poems of his have appeared in magazines such as Poetry Review, PN Review, the Rialto, the Spectator and the Times Literary Supplement. His poem 'The Harvest' is included in Best British Poetry 2014, edited by Mark Ford (Salt). The Alvarez Generation has been shortlisted for the University English Early Career book prize. His essays and reviews have appeared in the Guardian the London Review of Books and the Times Literary Supplement. He was born in 1971, grew up in Somerset, lives in London and teaches at the University of Bristol.
