Erin Smith

Unlike many refugees from Corporate America, Erin Smith had never thought about being her own boss. While rising up the ranks of the VUI world (Voice User Interface), she was soon speaking at conventions, being quoted in industry magazines, and quickly working her way up the corporate ladder. However, her life changed when she read, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and embraced the concept of owning.

After investing in real estate across the country, Erin and her husband started a pet sitting business called Amore Pet Care. She took the company from an idea to selling it five years later with a six-figure income, 12 employees and a large client list, all while keeping her corporate job.

Erin’s next venture was The Sunless Diva, a mobile spray tanning business, spurred by her desire to have someone spray tan her at her house, since skin cancer runs in her family. Again, Erin built the business from scratch and within a year, added several employees and at one point operated out of six salons.

Her success with starting, building and selling small businesses led Erin to create The Starters Club, an online business providing courses and coaching for would-be and new entrepreneurs.
