Alison Fast

Alison Fast is an author and filmmaker, who loves storytelling across all mediums. Her inspiration comes from traveling, spending time in nature, and leading community-based storytelling workshops in Mississippi and South Africa. She grew up in Boston, MA, graduated from Boston University College of Communication, and worked in the film and television industry in Los Angeles for more than ten years. In 2013, she published her first children's book, "Marigold and The Faraway Tree", about the relationship of a little girl with a real-life tree in her community of Kommejie, close to Cape Point in South Africa. Although the book began as a crowdfunded project, Penguin Random House picked it up for publication in June 2014. Alison believes that the best stories are homegrown tales, full of imagination, curiosity and wonderment. Her stories are crafted for readers of all ages.
