Laura Jane Smith

Dr Laura-Jane (LJ) Smith is Respiratory Consultant in South London, specialising in airways disease, Lung Cancer and sustainable healthcare.

LJ completed her medical degree at the University of Cambridge, and has since worked in hospitals across East Anglia and London. She is interested in health inequalities, the health impacts of the Climate Crisis, and holistic preventative healthcare. She has a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine and campaigns to bring issues such as air pollution and plant-based nutrition into UK medical practice. She has expertise in the theory and practice of teaching and learning and spent a year as a clinical teaching fellow at UCL Medical School. She has a Diploma in Medical Education and has written 2 books related to Respiratory medicine; Eureka Respiratory Medicine; and 300 SBAs for the Respiratory SCE.
