Michael F. Greco has been managing money for about 20 years. He graduated from Lafayette College with a joint degree in Economics & Mathematics, and his first official foray into financial services was in the Treasury Department of M&T Bank. Working on the fixed-income desk, Michael traded Fed Funds, foreign currency and assisted in the bank's analysis of CMOs and mortgage-backed securities.
In 1996, Michael transitioned to OLDE Securities, where he actively traded equities for individuals and institutional accounts. Choosing to focus on a retail clientele, Michael joined New England Financial in 1998 in an effort to offer a wider array of financial planning services. In 2001, Michael co-founded GCI Financial Group, Inc. There he serves as Chief Investment Officer and Director of Financial planning. He is charged with overseeing the firm's discretionary wealth management operations.
Michael has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and subsequently the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation through the American College. The Chartered Financial Consultant remains the most comprehensive designation in the financial planning field.
Michael has authored featured articles for several industry publications. He has been interviewed on National Public Radio, and has been quoted in many financial periodicals, including Fortune magazine. Michael has been an adjunct professor of Economics and Finance at Seton Hall University. He is also an arbitrator in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Dispute Resolution forum where he serves as an industry expert panelist hearing cases between brokers, broker/dealers and customers.
He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
