"Lots of times great blessings are disguised as great suffering."
Brian Mercer has spent over four decades in the arts as a musician, songwriter, actor, playwright and stand-up comic.
In the 80's he was a member of the rock band "Lost and Found". Their debut album, "Welcome to the Real World", still a much sought after indie rock classic, had three songs placed on national and/or local charts, including Mercer's title track which went to number one on several U.S. and European radio stations and syndicated Top 40 shows.
In the 90's he went back to school and earned degrees in both History and Religion from Azusa Pacific University and began to teach theatrical production and drama ministry. It was then that his songwriting turned to playwriting and in the 00's he wrote seven full-length pieces including; Joe: The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man, The Cowardly Knight and Archie and Emma.
In addition to his foray into the world of literature with the release of the award winning novel adaptation of Archie and Emma, he is currently developing Archie and Emma into a television series with screenwriter Tyler Walker.
Brian lives with his wife Linda in San Gabriel, California where they are involved in the ministries of Hope City Church, Compassion International, Samaritan's Purse and student loan repayment.
