Larry Cooperman

Larry Cooperman is currently an adjunct faculty librarian at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando, FL, and a national adjunct online instructor for Rasmussen College, teaching research and writing skills to upper-level business undergraduates. He has worked as a solo and small library manager and director for the past ten years, primarily in academic libraries, public libraries, and school libraries.

He has served on the Northeast Florida Library and Information Network (NEFLIN) Continuing Education Committee from 2002 to 2004 (serving as Chair in his final year) and the Florida Library Association’s Scholarship Committee from 2003 to 2006. He has presented a half-day workshop, IT Resources on the Internet, for librarians at various locations, and has taught his online course, Managing the One-Person Library, for Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science since July 2009; he also writes book reviews for School Library Journal, Reference & User Services Quarterly, and College & Research Library News. He received the Outstanding Achievement Award for Book Reviews from the Reference and Users Association (RUSA) of the American Library Association in May 2010 and in May 2011. He also received the 2009/2010 Librarian of the Year Award from Everglades University.
