Michael Whetstone

Mike Whetstone is currently a senior military analyst working at U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). His professional specializations are joint urban operations, scenario development, and strategic analysis. He has written and briefed three peer-reviewed professional papers, one a best paper nomination for IITSEC in Orlando, FL.

Mr. Whetstone has over 35 years of experience with both the military and civilian communities, having served in command, strategy, management, training, requirements/acquisition, and operational billets including: Germany, Panama, Somalia, and Afghanistan.

He was the 1996 Transportation Corps Civilian-of-the-Year while in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Mr. Whetstone remained in the U.S. Army after Somalia, serving in Afghanistan in 2003, where he received the Bronze Star. He retired as a lieutenant colonel. For his actions in Mogadishu, he received the Silver Star and the Bronze Star.
