An avid reader and scribbler since the age of four I have finally found the time to write in earnest. "Unravelling the Threads" is my first book and was inspired by my own experiences of house hunting when I moved to Cornwall ten years ago. The story would not leave me alone and I felt compelled to write it.
After a career in education and later complementary therapy, I am now retired and enjoying life having recently moved back to my roots in mid Wales with my husband and two cats. We are surrounded by amazing scenery spend some part of every day walking the quiet lanes and hillside paths.
I firmly believe that writing has a therapeutic role and certainly keeping a journal helped me greatly when going through some difficult personal times. The written word has always been a source of comfort to me and I cannot envisage a life without both books and writing. My family help to keep me grounded and I am fortunate to have two adorable grandchildren who bring great joy and lots of laughter and special times.
My second book, A Fearful, Frightening Happening recounts the last week of an old man's life as his daughter is forced to come to terms with his death, her responses to mortality and the secrets she discovers from his past. I am a great believer in the power of discussion and conversation and feel that all too often we brush aside the difficult issues in life rather than confront them.
