Ryan Shelley left Amish Country, PA under cover of darkness to steal his MFA from MICA in Baltimore, MD at age 25ish. Adopting the pseudonym ras and a black permahoodie, the design imp joined forces with fellow maker e to launch an interdisciplinary design collaborative. Their ras+e practice blends their careers as university faculty, activists, artists, and designers.
