Mike Walters

Mike Walters writes mystery and suspense set in the rugged landscapes of Southern Oregon. His novels put atmospheric Pacific Northwest settings against deeply human characters working through secrets, grief, and the messy business of redemption.

He has published six novels: Memories of an Ash Covered Sky, Breadcrumbs to Death, The Good Sheriff, Hidden Beneath the Pines, and the two-book Rogue River Incident. His work has drawn comparisons to Jane Harper, William Kent Krueger, and the darker end of Kristin Hannah.

A former U.S. Air Force photographer, Mike spent years watching people and places across all fifty states before coming back to Southern Oregon, the place he has always called home. He markets by day and writes by night, shaped by the land and by the quiet truths sitting under ordinary life.

When he isn't writing, he's on a mountain bike, on the road bike, or out photographing the Oregon backcountry. He lives in Sunny Valley.
