Joe Garcia

Joe Garcia was born and raised in Pacific Grove, California. He loves animals, outdoor activities and observing and photographing nature. An avid San Francisco Giants fan, Joe loves watching baseball games on the television surrounded by his dogs. He lives on the Monterey Peninsula with his wife Gail.

With help from his childhood friend and award-winning author Maria Larsen, Joe tells an extraordinary tale about his rescued dog Lola. In 2013 the Dog Writer's Association of America nominated "They Call Me Lola" for an award of excellence. In 2014 Joe joined forces again with Maria to write the sequel to Lola's story. "My Name is Daria" is written from the perspective of one of Lola's beloved daughters. Daria tells the charming tale of her life as an abandoned stray, beginning with her birth in a lakeside den. The lucky pup is adopted, bottle-fed and properly cared for by Joe, his wife Gail and the canine members of the Garcia Family Pack. Daria's journey is another must read for dog enthusiasts—whether you have read Lola's story or not.
