Laura A. Woollett

Laura A. Woollett grew up in South Windsor, Connecticut where she devoured books by L.M. Montgomery, Beverly Cleary, and R.L. Stein. She is a full-time editor of literacy curriculum for children in grades K–12 and holds an M.A. in Children’s Literature from Simmons College. It was at Simmons that she wrote the first draft of what became her first book for middle-grade readers, Big Top Burning: The True Story of an Arsonist, a Missing Girl, and The Greatest Show On Earth, a nonfiction account of the 1944 Hartford circus fire (Chicago Review Press, June 2015). Laura currently lives in Massachusetts with her family.
