L.B. Ó Ceallaigh

Dr. O' Ceallaigh's life story is a testament to the resilience and tenacity of immigrants in America. Born and raised in Ireland, he migrated to the United States as a teenager with his family, becoming an "Accidental American" citizen. His immediate family had been among the earliest among his line to make the journey across the Atlantic, paving the way for generations to come.

With a deep passion for learning, Dr. O' Ceallaigh pursued degrees in psychology and theology/divinity, eventually becoming an ordained priest. He never stopped expanding his knowledge and even delved into the field of virology, taking online courses to further his understanding.

As a guest lecturer at California State University Bakersfield, as well as other speaking engagements, Dr. O' Ceallaigh shared his expertise on the intersection of religion, politics, and racism, particularly in the context of Indigenous peoples of Mexico. His extensive knowledge and unique perspective have made him deeply literate in the fields of anthropology, sociology, religion and spirituality, domestic abuse, and grief.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. O' Ceallaigh is also a prolific author, with numerous books spanning various genres. Between non-fiction works on social issues to fiction co-authored with his son, who was tragically murdered in 2019, he has published a wide library of literary works.
