Ann Bernadette holds a passion for all things Detroit, especially the multitude of hidden gems scattered throughout its vast land-living in the form of people and place and things. After the toppling of the world's once most industrious city, many of its charms needed to be dusted off and re-polished.
Ann tells the story of Detroit's devolving industrial era from the perspective of a frayed family at the tail end of "white flight", exemplifying how the big city drew people in and then "un-welcomed" their stay. She shares recollections of Detroit's landmarks and legends, all the while hoping and praying to inspire respect for those driven to overcome the challenges of being Detroiters during the downturn, with dreams of unity and more peaceful days for future generations.
