M. Carroll

Author M Carroll had never tried to herd cats before setting out to coordinate the work of seventeen artists for the book, The Tree Who Walked Through Time – A Tree Identification Story, but Carroll has never known the meaning of the word “can’t.” A lover of rocks and trees since a small child climbing in the Colorado Rockies, Carroll has worn many hats over the years, including linguist and cultural anthropologist, parent, public speaker, gluten-free cook, teacher, photographer, writer, graphic designer, and all-around Seeker of Truth.

"Writing is a compulsion, I am irresistibly compelled. If I am lucky, writing brings me into contact with churning stardust, the magical inspiration that precipitates creation. I like form and structure and I'm interested in many topics, but I have no idea what will come out when I sit down at the keyboard and begin to write. I find this both frightening and liberating. Writing allows me to delve into myself and the cosmic consciousness and play. I always wonder: 'what will I discover now?' and I get a new answer every time. My current project is a little guidebook on setting achievable intentions. It will be published in 2018."

Carroll published her father’s WWII photographs & detailed his POW experiences in the 2016 book, A Wyoming Cowboy in Hitler’s Germany, and also authored several children’s books including, The Tree Who Walked Through Time, The Boy Whose Branches Reached the Stars, and Spiders Dance, all available on Amazon.

Carroll graduated from the University of Kansas and taught conflict management classes throughout the United States and abroad. Carroll also writes about conflict, diversity, and community on the blog: https://maureencarroll.com/.
