Leslie Palumbo

Leslie Palumbo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and meditation teacher who has worked extensively in bereavement and mindfulness over the past 20 years. As a School Social Worker; a consultant to the Chicago Public Schools; a child therapist and clinician in private practice; and a volunteer in hospice, she has individually counseled and facilitated bereavement groups with diverse populations and taught mindfulness during loss to individuals, small groups and workshops throughout the country.

In 2004, the tables were suddenly turned on Leslie with the violent death of her mother, casting her on a humbling and at times dark journey. One thing remained constant throughout her grief: she could not stop writing about it. In THE WISDOM OF GRIEF, she lays out the specific practices that helped her open to a larger view, where she could see both the beauty and the terror of this event and of life itself, amidst an ever expanding background of profound peace, made available during the exclusive window opened by grief.

It is her sincere hope that anyone who reads her work will be touched and healed in some way.
