Ellen Malphrus

Ellen Malphrus has a spirit of wanderlust. Her sense of adventure has taken her around the world but it is her beloved South Carolina lowcountry that always beckons her home. She writes, as Pat Conroy says, "with the osprey-eyed vision of a native."

Ellen's fiction, poetry, and essays have appeared in Southern Literary Journal, William and Mary Review and Review of Contemporary Fiction. She was a student of James Dickey and teaches literature and creative writing at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.
