Doug has over 20 years in the fire service. A fireman in Manhattan's densely populated upper east side, a fire marshal in queens, he is a currently a second generation FDNY Lieutenant assigned to Ladder Co. in the North Bronx. He previously served with the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department in Virginia and Howard County Maryland. Doug holds a Bachelors Degree from University of Maryland Baltimore County.
As Vice President of Traditions Training, LLC, he instructs hands on and lecture programs on fire service topics nationwide. He co-host’s a monthly Blog Talk Radio program and has authored several articles, 'Quick Drills' and blogs for Fire Engineering Magazine. His co-authored best selling book “25 to Survive: Reducing Residential Injury and LODD” was released in 2013 by Fire Engineering/Penn-Well publishing.
