Peter L. Wise

Peter Wise, a veteran teacher of over 30 years, has developed innovative and strategic methods for teaching math and motivating students. He has coached math teams and taught hundreds of students in before- and after-school math clubs. His teaching and coaching have been featured in newspaper articles and even on TV. His students often make 2, and sometimes 3 years growth each year on national standardized tests. He has also been a presenter at various schools and conferences, including the Colorado Associate of Gifted and Talented. His own two children competed successfully in state and national math competitions.

A resident of Colorado, he also enjoys hiking, music, and chess.. In 2019 he coached his school's chess students to win first place in the US Chess Federation National Elementary K-6 Championship, unrated division.

Peter works hard to make the subjects he teaches as enjoyable and motivating as possible. In his books he seeks to convey the enthusiasm and passion he has for math.
