KT Ashely

KT Ashely is an American short story author & novelist from the Deep South whose genre is Historical Fiction with Mystery, Thriller & Dystopian sub-genres.

Much of the author’s writing is influenced by historical events from contemporary to the ancient. The human condition and it's affects on society are often the theme. His well researched work can be uninhibited and mature in subject matter but is always written with purpose. Plot lines involving prejudices, indifference, wealth disparities, and military service are common.

Published books include The Pool a novella addressing racial inequality involving two young boys in the 1970's. Strayed and Other Stories of Life on Edge is a gritty mix of shorts including the novella Lee Roy exploring women and the mentally disabled's civil rights in the 1960's. The prequel novelette Murder In Hot Coffee is companion to the Spacek and Toussaint mystery novel series Onionhead, and Ghosts of the Leaf River which are works in the making. The published novella Odette's Tears is the first of a collection of short stories subtitled Scary Stories from the Bayou that support the foresaid mystery novel series. These shorts are adult ghost story reads.
