Joanna Charnas spent her formative years in New York City and then Northern California in what is now Silicon Valley. She received a BA from The Evergreen State College and earned her MSW from Boston University School of Social Work. Joanna has been a social worker for over thirty-five years. Her first book, Living Well with Chronic Illness (MSI Press, 2015), evolved from her career experiences and years as a patient. This book was an American Book Fest Award Finalist. Her second book, 100 Tips and Tools for Managing Chronic Illness (MSI Press, 2018), elaborates on the numerous methods she utilizes to maximize health and wellness. This book won a Book Exellence Award. She was a regular contributor to the HuffPost Blog for over two years and has been published on several international websites. Her latest book, A Movie Lover’s Search for Romance, details her dating experiences in her forties and fifties after a divorce, and also received a Book Excellence Award. It also won an Honorable Mention in the Hollywood Book Festival.
