PAUL J. THOMAS, MBA, is a former financial services CEO who first gained recognition as an author with his acclaimed Bite Size Advice series. In it, he offered sharp, accessible commentary on political, economic, social, and technological issues, establishing himself as a thought leader with a gift for unpacking complex ideas for a broad audience.
Following his retirement from the business world, Paul turned his attention from current affairs to deeper questions of faith and belief, marking the beginning of his Doubting Thomas series. The first book, Doubting Thomas: One Man’s Struggle with Organised Religion and Its Impact on World History, offers a critical examination of the darker side of organised religion and its often-overlooked impact on society.
In his second volume, Doubting Thomas: Investigating the Authenticity of Miraculous Claims, Paul explores the enduring question of miracles – what they are, whether they occur, and how their credibility might be assessed. Drawing on historical records, theological perspectives, and scientific inquiry, he brings his characteristic clarity and balance to the question of whether belief in miracles can be considered rational.
Though his executive career has ended, Paul continues to contribute meaningfully to public discourse through his writing. The Doubting Thomas series reflects both his intellectual versatility and his willingness to engage with challenging and sometimes controversial subjects, inviting sceptics and believers alike into thoughtful reflection and open dialogue.
Now, in his autobiography, One Life, Many Hats, Paul turns the lens inward. This is a story of endurance, second chances, and quiet resilience – a life rebuilt without fanfare. It serves as a reminder that even after major setbacks, there is still time to grow, to lead, and to give back.
Paul and his wife Beverley share a blended family of six children and eight grandchildren.
