TJ Akey

Tim (T.J.) Akey is a former commercial pilot and motorcyclist. In 2013 he gave up his bike and sports car, sold everything, and moved onto his 42-ft sailboat with his wife to go cruising the East Coast and Caribbean waters. They spend much of their time writing about their experiences on their blog, www.theretirementproject.blogspot.com. Together they wrote How NOT to Buy a Cruising Boat, a book written to help others with the dream of cruising to succeed. Tj has also recently written Learning From a Uke, a book about how learning to play the uke at age 63 changed his perception of the world.
