Robert Mitchell

Robert L. (Bob) Mitchell is a Chief Operating Officer for a major medical device company in Orange County, California. Along with his wife of thirty-two years, he raised three children in a solid Christian home, each of whom experimented with and

were addicted to drugs for a time. Bob now has two children and four grandchildren.

Beginning in 1998, the first of Bob's three children began smoking "weed" which led to him further exploring the drug world. This son, Bobby, ended up addicted to meth. Subsequently, Robert's second child, Christian, also began taking drugs and ended up addicted to Heroin which ultimately ended with suicide. Robert's youngest, Hannah, also got addicted to Meth and after five long years, ended up in the Orange County Jail.

Robert and Hannah wrote the Book, "Raising Drug Addicts."

Sixteen years of dealing with the addiction of all three of his children as well as the suicide of his son gave author Robert Mitchell the insight to write his new book, “Raising Drug Addicts: A Father’s Account, with Lessons Learned and Sections by my Daughter from the Orange County Jail” (published by WestBow Press), the story of a family struggling with drug addiction co-authored with his daughter Hannah.

The true story of the Mitchell family follows Mitchell and his three children. The story centers on them, their drug and alcohol addiction and the lessons learned from the experiences. After his son, Christian, committed suicide while recovering from heroin addiction, Mitchell looked for God’s purpose in the situations his family had endured.

“This book is targeted at helping the loved ones of anyone who is addicted or abusing drugs or alcohol,” Mitchell says. “Parents approaching their teens, teens who are experimenting with drugs or even teens who have never abused drugs should read this book.
