Peter C. Alexander

Peter Alexander is the former law school dean at Southern Illinois University and Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the Southern Illinois University School of Law. He is a prolific scholar and has served as a law professor for more than 30years. He has written a book with his late father, Leonard Alexander, a retired postal supervisor, about the segregated school system that existed in their suburban New York City village of Hillburn, New York, until 1943. Leonard could not attend the "white school" because of segregation, but Peter was able to because of the efforts of Alexander family patriarch, Thomas Ulysses Alexander, and Thurgood Marshall. Last fall, he published a book about the financial life of noted architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Mr. Alexander lives in Illinois.
