Olcay Sert

Olcay Sert works as a senior lecturer in the School of Education, Culture and Communication at Mälardalen University, Sweden. He is the editor of Classroom Discourse, a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Routledge. His articles have appeared in a number of academic journals including Journal of Pragmatics, TESOL Quarterly, Language and Education, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, ReCALL, Computer Assisted Language Learning, and Applied Linguistics Review. His book "Social Interaction and L2 Classroom Discourse" (Edinburgh University Press) was shortlisted for the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) Book Prize in 2016 and became a finalist for the American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) first book award in 2017.

Before joining Mälardalen University, Olcay Sert worked at Hacettepe University, Newcastle University, University of Sunderland, and Luxembourg University. His research deals with classroom discourse, L2 interaction, and language teacher education.
