RAJAN PATEL

Rajan Patel was born into exile. Under a military curfew he was delivered at home in Mbale, Uganda in 1972. A few hours after he was born Idi Amin announced all Asians with British passports to leave the country. Within weeks his family left, first travelling to India with his mother and brother and then joining his father in London where he was raised and now lives.

He graduated from London’s Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, University College London with degrees in Town Planning. He has worked for a number of Local Planning Authorities across London and the Home Counties and in 2008 he established his own Planning Consultancy.

In between writing FEAST OF VARANASI and his epic trilogy series RISHI SCROLLS he has written the screenplay, produced and directed his debut British feature film FEAST OF VARANASI releasing in 2016.

He lives with his family in London, England.
