Peter Harris

Peter Harris is a writer and translator with a lifelong interest in China and other parts of Asia. Brought up in England, he was a writer and editor for the BBC before becoming a human rights and civil society specialist. He has lived and worked in many parts of Asia including Cambodia, Indonesia and China, where he was representative of the Ford Foundation. He studied classical Chinese and international relations at Oxford, and has a Ph D in Asian history from Monash. He now lives with his wife Vicky in New Zealand, where he is a Senior Fellow in the China Research Centre at Victoria University of Wellington.
