A former Seattle-area school board member, Dr. Phil Gore has worked for state school boards associations in Washington, Texas, Vermont, and Idaho as well as the National School Boards Association. Phil holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington. His doctoral research focused on what school boards consider when evaluating a superintendent. Phil has an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and a BA in Management. Prior to working in school governance, Phil was a pastor and youth minister for twenty years. He is recognized nationally as a speaker on productive relationships and effective governance. He currently consults with boards and executives and speaks full time on respect, trust, teamwork, and vision.
When he is not assisting school boards and superintendents, Phil enjoys mountain climbing, cycling, kayaking, and hiking with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He has compelling stories to share from hiking and climbing internationally and in nearly every state.
