Scott C. Miller

Scott Miller is the Founder of CirclesŪ USA, established in 1992 to inspire and equip communities to end poverty and thrive. He is also the lead developer of the CirclesŪ model, a community-building approach that builds relationships across income lines to support families moving out of poverty and into economic stability.

Scott began his focus on poverty in the late 70’s as a volunteer serving people who were homeless in Rochester, NY. Since then, he has initiated projects throughout North America that directly help families out of poverty while educating the community about what changes must be made to eventually eradicate conditions that cause poverty.

CirclesŪ is now in communities across the US and parts of Canada, and has been featured on the CBS Evening News, TEDx, CNN, NPR, PBS, The Stanford Social Innovation Review, Philanthropy Magazine, and The Huffington Post.

Scott is the author of the books, Until It’s Gone: Ending Poverty in our Nation, in our Lifetime; Having Enough Money: A Simple Workbook for Building a Conscious Budget; The Circles Story: How Circles Can Help Your Community Find New Ways to Resolve Poverty and Thrive; and Transformational Heart: How to Master the Four Seasons of Transformational Change. He is co-author of a new book entitled, Bootstraps and Benefits: What the Right and Left Understand about Poverty, and What We Can Learn.

Scott makes his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife Jan. Both have volunteered for years as allies to families involved in Circles. Scott enjoys photography, composing music and artwork. To view his artistic work, visit ScottMillerLtd.com.
